the perfect cotton sheets

With so many cotton fitted sheets out there, choosing the right set can get confusing. That's why we've created just one set for all you cotton lovers out there that comes with the ideal balance of softness, breathability and strength.

a balanced weave

Choosing the perfect weave to work with the thread count is essential for the sheets’ strength and breathability. For strong, crisp and cool sheets we chose a percale weave. Here’s what you need to know…

What is a percale weave?

  • Percale is a closely woven plain-weave fabric, decidedly tighter than the standard type of weave used for bed sheets.

Why is this beneficial?

  • Due to the tightness of the weave, the sheets retain a smooth feel while the simple over/under structure of the yarn results in an incredibly cool and breathable fabric. This composition also makes the sheets easy to wash.
+View the weave

Percale is a crisp, non-glossy weave that is generally cooler than sateen. This is ideal for the warmer summer months or if you tend to feel hot while sleeping.

the ideal thread count

We incorporated a thread count that works harmoniously with the percale weave, making the sheets luxuriously soft to the touch. Here's what you need to know¦

What is thread count?

  • Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch.

What thread count do the sheets use?

  • We discovered that a TC of 200 was the 'sweet spot' when balanced with the sheets percale weave.

Why is this beneficial?

  • Generally regarded as the gold standard of high quality bed sheets, combined with a percale weave, a TC of 200 makes the sheets incredibly soft as well as light and easy to iron.

no fluff, just quality

Our cotton bed sheets are incredibly durable, retaining their structure wash after wash. This is because we used a longer than average staple length.

What is staple length?

  • Staple length is the term used to describe the quality of the fibres that make up each individual piece of yarn. The longer the fibre, the stronger the yarn.

What staple length do the sheets use?

  • The sheets use a longer than average staple length, treated and finished in Portugal - one of Europe's leading cotton manufacturers.

Why is this beneficial?

  • The sheets' longer than average staple length means they are less prone to wear and tear, giving them lasting durability. To make sure they last even longer, only wash them at 40°C.
